I’d like to be able to request a random video to rewatch from the videos I have already watched. It would be nice if I could create a playlist of such videos. One could expand this further to include selection parameters, such as selecting from the previous week/month or by difficulty.
I realize that I can already do most of this. The only addition I can suggest is an option in the Status dropdown menu to show “Watched Previous Week.” Thank you for being one step ahead of me.
From the Watch list, you can select “Watched Only” from the Status dropdown list. If you then select “Auto-fill Playlist,” it will create a playlist of videos you have already watched. It isn’t really random, as it tends to pick among the same few videos every time, which is why I had suggested picking from the previous week. If this is implemented, a few more tweaks would probably be good, like a “real” random selection. There’s a risk that the page will get too complex, though.
There actually is a way to fully randomize a playlist of watched videos, but it’s just tucked away under “Other Items” rather than using “Auto-fill Playlist.” I have an “easy” playlist that I use as warm-ups for the day. I was able to put all videos I watched from a ten level range into the playlist, then shuffle it. Now it’s set to auto-remove them after watching. When I finish the playlist next month, I plan to load it up again and re-randomize it.
Here’s steps to create a random playlist:
Filter for the videos you want in the playlist (e.g. Watched Videos Level 1-10)
Open the playlist you want to add the videos to or create a new one
In the playlist options click Other Items > Add search results to playlist > Type the full number of videos from your search to get them all
In the playlist options click Other Items > Sort by… > Random
That should create a large playlist then shuffle it up for you. I also like your suggestion for a method to add videos from the previous week. Maybe a filter for videos you first watched within a certain date range would be nice. As is, the only way I know to do that is to go into your history and manually add the add videos to a playlist, which I guess doesn’t take too long but I have to do it frequently.
