Hello all, I am akase.
I am from the US and have been self studying Japanese for three years. This year I have been trying to move away from textbook style learning towards acquisition. The struggle is real.
I have long been a fan of stories, and the great stories shared via anime is what made me take an interest in Japanese. As I have been learning the language the tidbits of culture that I have picked up have made me interested in Japanese history and Shinto. I would like to one day read a telling of the Tale of Genji targeted to a Japanese audience.
Other than that I mostly mess with computers. I like to dabble in programming and sysadmin for my home lab. I was happy to see CIJ move away from Patreon to something that they can control. I hope the move pans out and I wish Yuki, her team, and all her students great success.
