Stay Motivated!

皆さんこんにちは!

I just want to encourage all of you who are on this learning journey with me !

The language learning journey is long, everyone goes at their own pace -

what is easy for me may be hard for you and vice-versa -

if you’re coming from an English background like me then learning Japanese may be one of the hardest things you have ever done.

So each day that you make progress give yourself a mental (or physical) pat on the back.

You did it!

And on those days you don’t feel like studying - its okay to take a break but it is also okay to recognize that we are privileged to be able to learn and immerse in one of our favorite cultures.

Progress is like a snowball rolling down the hill , it grows gradually little by little until it all comes rushing down at once !!

We can be grateful to have so much media and so many resources like Yuki-san that we are so lucky to have access to.

We can appreciate the journey!

in conclusion

頑張る! you got this!

Thank you for the words of encouragement! Japanese is a difficult language but we all have our reasons for wanting to learn it. Thanks for reminding all of us that it’s okay to take breaks once in a while.

頑張りましょう!

I use Genki. As of writing, I am studying lesson 8. My input and output are not even at a lesson 4 level, but when I go back to listen and shadow lesson 1 - 3, I do pretty well. I reminding me that with time, it will sink in and my tongue will adjust.
Also, I think of a person with no experience with Japanese watching anime, or CI videos with me and consider how the little I can interpret would probably impress them. It would for me.
