Hi everyone, first post!
I’m wondering if it might be possible to sync Wanikani and the transcripts on CJ, so that if I read a transcript and I already know a kanji, it wont show the furigana above the kanji, but if I dont know it, it will. If not, I’d like to suggest it as a possibility for the future. This function could be useful because when I (we?) have the furigana setting on, we start reading it and may see it before we have a chance to read the kanji on its own.

I have the same reflex - when there is furigana my eyes jump to it before I even look at the kanji. In order to practice reading kanji, I use two browser extensions:
The first one is the most simple and narrowly focused to practice reading kanji. It hides furigana which would otherwise be on the page. I have it configured so that the furigana is shown when I hover the mouse pointer over a kanji. So I first try to read the kanji and if I don’t know it, I hover the mouse over it.
The second extension is well-known and more powerful. Yomitan shows reading and definitions for words. I have it configured to pop up information on mouse hover, just like Furigana Toggle, so it’s very quick to use. This can get in the way for normal web browsing so I also configured a keyboard shortcut to toggle it on/off.
I don’t typically use both extensions at the same time, just one or the other depending on whether I want to practice reading and skip over words I don’t know the meaning of, or get their definition.
As shown in the screenshots, both extensions work on CIJ transcripts.

Wow, fantastic, thank you very much!! You know, I’ve seen Yomitan mentioned a ton of times, but actually had no idea what it did. And I’d never heard of Furigana Toggle, it sounds amazing. Both seem great for this site, and also some other sites (maybe NHK Easy news?) I’m most definitely going to try them, thanks a lot. You post or the info. in it should be a sticky somewhere here, it’s so helpful.
